Jointly operated by Transport for Chiswick and Austin Transit Authority.
Opened in 1848, the section between Rushden Park Junction (now Chiswick Capital) and Hanwell Haymarket was the first ever passenger railway in United Counties.
The line to Turnham Green was opened in 1870 as the only joint railway between the Auton & Chiswick Railway and Southlands Railway.
The Main Line (Auton & Chiswick Main Line) was completed (Turnham Green-Whitton) in 1900
Absorbed into the Auton & Chiswick Railway under grouping in 1900
Electrified in 1908
Absorbed into Chiswick Transport control in 1910 (under nationalisation)
Chiswick-Turnham Airport extension opened in 1930, along with Chiswick-Turnham Airport on the current southern half of the airfield. The northern half of the airfield was a air military base built parallel to the commercial airport.
"Austin-Chiswick Line", later the Auswick line, was established by Chiswick Transport running between the new city of Austin and Chiswick in 1933
Chiswick Capital opened in 1953, although the full station was completed in 1973 (formerly Rushden Park Junction).
The whole Chiswick-Turnham Airport loop was completed in 1955, as the northern airfield was later turned to commercial use.
Austin Airport extension opened in 1970
Hanwell Transport and Transport for Chiswick merged in 2002, extending full TfC ticket acceptance to Hanwell and Austin.
Chiswick Airport Terminal 8 opened in 2014, the last new station on the Auswick line Chiswick Airport Loop.
2018 is the next biggest change, where the eight-tracking of The Main Line between Chiswick Capital and Austin Airport Parkway will be finished.
Three new stations serving the villages of Ilmer, Cranford and Heston opened in November 2018
A further extension to Austin Airline Academy opened on 4th September 2020 funded by the Austin Transit Authority.
