To continue making buses an attractive option in the city of Chiswick, Transport for Chiswick provides public transport priority sections where some of the most important corridors can skip traffic and get you to places faster.
This is provided by various traffic light bus priority schemes across Chiswick, as well as some larger projects, including busways and segregated bus lanes.
Rutlink Travelway is an initiative to re-route private traffic along a wider, fit for purpose road (New Rutland Road) roughly parallel to the Rutland Road. Rutland Road is now the Rutlink Travelway, where buses, trams and trolleybuses now have a traffic-free road to travel on, beating the traffic between Hammertime and Westford along the busy Rutland Road corridor. Premium Corridor 111 especially benefits, as it runs an express bus service along the Travelway, whilst a stopping tram service stops at every stop, saving time overall.
An extension to the Travelway is now underway towards Chiswick Capital South (Platforms 70-111), with Rutland Road instead being widened to accommodate the tram, trolleybus and bus services.
