History:
Constructed by the nationalised Auton & Chiswick Railway for feeder services to its electric railways in 1912-1920 at Hammertime.
Moved to Chiswick Transport control in 1933
Expanded into Norton Cross in 1940
New trolleybuses from AM Motors were delivered in 1940
Further expansion into Fort Wolfdell opened in 1975
New trolleybuses from AM Motors, as well as existing WPC trolleybuses from Downham Transport were procured from 1970-1975
Expansion into Greenwoods Estate opened in 1996
New trolleybuses from AM Motors were delivered in 1996, the last step-entrance trolleybuses, and the first OPO trolleybuses, converting all routes to OPO
The trolleybuses from 1996 were retrofitted with wheelchair ramps in 1999
In 2003, privatisation took place, and the trolleybus network was awarded to L1/Group and ChisGroup until 2017.
New trolleybuses from AM Motors bodied by Alexander-Dennis arrived in 2009, providing a proper step-free access to buses.
In 2017, the trolleybus network was tendered and the winners were L1/Group and GroupSoro.
Further expansion of the trolleybus network to open between 2018 and 2022 include an extension to Chiswick Capital-MediaCity, extension within the new Olympic Park, and more new trolleybuses.
